How do I create and use the User Report?

This guide article will be walking you through how to create and use the User report in the Assure software including how to save and export reports. You can also watch our video tutorial on how to do this.

  1. Navigate to the Reports module, populate the User, Timeframe and Period (optional) fields, and click the Generate Report button.

  2. The Summary Bar at the top shows the following information:
    • The user's Web rating for the timeframe selected –  

        The Web Rating is a measure of the user's quality of web activity including searches during that timeframe, and will help those that run this report determine this user's level of digital citizenship as well as if the quality of their web activity is impacting their productivity in school or their wellbeing. 

      • A count for Video views during that time. 
      • The number of URL's blocked during that time. 
      • Data usage for them during that time 

      3.  You will see a number of tabs in the report that you can explore.

      • Visualisation - will show you some trend charts to compare Alerts for web categories and dictionary alerts against web and app activity.
      • Web - will show you a comparison of web activity for the user to their cohort as well as a more detailed listing of their web activity (this detailed list can be exported - CSV or PDF).
      • App - will show you a comparison of app usage for the user to their cohort as well as a more detailed listing of their app usage.
      • Rating - will show you the trend for the user's quality of web activity for the past year.
      • Search - will show you a listing of all web searches during the timeframe selected.
      • Video - will show you a listing of all the videos viewed during the timeframe selected.
      • Alerts - will show you a listing of all the Alerts that were triggered for the user during the timeframe selected.

      4.  To save a report, please complete the following steps:

      • Generate a report as per step 1 of this guide.
      • Click the Save button in the top right.

      • Enter a Description for the report for easier identification of it.
      • Select a Timeframe for the report.
      • Select the Yes option for this to be a Scheduled report that gets sent to a select email address. 
        • Select the Frequency at which this report will be emailed to the selected user.
        • Enter an email address into the Email field for the scheduled report to be sent to going forward. Please note that you can only enter one email into this field currently.
      • Select the No option if you do not wish to schedule this report but to simply save it to be run later within Assure.
      • Click the Save button and the report will be saved under the Saved Reports section in the Reports module. If a Scheduled report, it will be sent to the email specified at the selected frequency.

      5.  To export a report, you can click on the PDF button in the top right and then click Proceed.

      The full User Report will generate and you can then save it to your PC and send it to others in your team if needed. This PDF button is visible when clicking to view any tab in the report.

      • CSV button - If you click to view any tab other than the Visualisation tab, you will have the option to export a CSV data file showing data as seen for that particular tab only.
      • Detailed button - The Web tab also has an export option called Detailed up here which gives you a CSV file export of the detailed raw data of all the web activity for the User report that you generated.
