How do I create and use a Custom Report?

This guide article will be walking you through how to create and use Custom Reports in the Assure software including how to view and export these reports. You can also watch our video tutorial on how to do this.

1.  Navigate to the Reports module, and click the Create Custom Report tab on the right (above the Saved Reports section).

  • Select the Report Scope - User or Group
  • Select the User or Group that you would like to create the report for.
  • Enter a Description for the report for easier identification of it.
  • Select a Timeframe for the report.
  • Select the Yes option for this to be a Scheduled report that gets sent to a select email address.
    • Select the Frequency at which this report will be emailed to the selected user.
    • Enter an email address into the Email field for the scheduled report to be sent to going forward. Please note that you can only enter one email into this field currently.
  • Select the No option if you do not wish to schedule this report but to simply save it to be run later within Assure.
  • Select the Subreports that you would like to include in this Custom Report.
    • You can limit the report data to only show the Top 5 applications, web categories, search terms, or video titles (as an example) if needed. The maximum number of records you can set for each of these Subreports is 250.
    • If selecting the Group Report Scope, you can also set the day range for the User Rating Report if needed.
    • You can limit the Dictionary Alerts Report to only show the High Priority Alerts that were triggered during this timeframe.
    • You can also change the order that the data will appear in on the report by dragging and dropping each of these Subreport options into the order you wish. 
  • Click the Save button and the report will be saved under the Saved Reports section in the Reports module. If a Scheduled report, it will be sent to the email specified at the selected frequency.

2.  To view and export a report:

  • You can click on the Generate action icon on the right of the report record in the Saved Reports section.

    The Custom Report will generate and you can then save it to your PC and send it to others in your team if needed.
